Christmas spirit week!







Fall pictures were sent home last week. Either money for the pictures or the pictures are due back on Monday, Dec. 16th.


Fifth grade has been learning about electricity and magnetism. They combined the two together to build electromagnets. They explored the features, varied their designs to increase the power, while collecting and analyzing data.





Members of the math team from Berry College stopped by today to drop off some gifts of classroom supplies that will be helpful for a variety of instructional tasks. We are thankful for our partnerships with Berry College!

Last week, West End Elementary was formally recognized for being a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence - Lighthouse School in Orlando, Florida. West End was one of 68 schools recognized from across the country. Thank you faculty, staff, students, and families for making this amazing achievement possible! #GrowingReadersOutWest





The West End Elementary Chorus, grades 5 and 6, performed a selection of spirituals and traditional Christmas carols for residents at the Renaissance Marquis and Brookdale. After the performance, the students showed off their STEM learning by teaching residents to code BeeBots.

Our amazing PTO treated 18 of our top fundraisers for the Superhero Sprint with a limo lunch to Mellow Mushroom and Honeymoon Bakery! Thank you for supporting our PTO as we continue raising money for a new pavilion on the front playground.









West End is blessed with a super sweet staff so we were honored to share some sweet treats with them as we approach the holiday season!

Students in 5th grade tested objects for conductivity. They predicted, then tested several items. In the end, they drew conclusions about what items conduct electricity and explained their reasoning.







Congratulations to our Clogging team and 6th grade chorus for winning 4th place in the children's division of the Rome Christmas Parade!
