Many veterans joined us at West End today for our Veterans Day program. Some even joined us via pictures and memories. As the army song played and army veterans rose to be recognized, Elin Tilley proudly stood holding a picture of her great grandfather and army veteran Samuel Freeman and his wife, Kathryn Freeman. Samuel served proudly during WWII. #WeRemember #ThankYouVeterans @romecityschools
Thank you, Veterans of our West End families, for joining us in celebrating your service and sacrifice.
We want to thank our Us Army Veterans, Mr. John Hrubes (retired WEE employee) and Commissioner Scotty Hancock, and US Marine Corps Veteran, Dr. Eric Robertson (AP, Main Elem.) for sharing their experiences with us. Zaden Cook, former WEE student, played Taps.
On this Veterans Day, we proudly honored all veterans with our students and families. Thank you, veterans, for your service and sacrifice! @romecityschools
