The WEE sixth grade construction club learned how to safely use a hammer to drive nails. They created a porcupine doorstep to get nail driving practice in. Did you know that you can use a wooden clothespin to hold a nail while you hammer to protect your fingers? #STEM

Our teachers are hard at work "Growing Readers Out West" (GROW)!
Because of a generous grant from Construction Ready, West End students will learn the basics of construction during their STEM Lab rotation. Students are currently learning how to read a measuring tape.

As a special treat for the first day of school, we will have 5 large inflatables for students to play on during activity time tomorrow (8/1). Please ensure students have socks and dress accordingly. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting day!
